Day 8 - Saturday 11th April 2026 This was a day of travel, but I still had a few hours in Shrewsbury before I needed to head to the station and catch my train. I got up and took myself out for a walk at 7am. It was a lovely morning again - I have to say, the weather was amazing for my whole trip, given that I was in the Welsh borders in April. Day 7 - Friday 10th April - Writing and Loggerheads I got up early and headed out with my writing gear in my bag and my leaflet about ‘ Shrewsbury’s Mysterious Loggerheads ’ in my pocket. The Loggerheads themselves vary a lot in their formation. According to the leaflet, the only real stipulations is that the Loggerheads should appear in gold on a blue background. As a result, they appear in a wild variety of forms, ranging from leopards to lions to cats, and with varying fac

Day 5 - Thursday 9th April Having had such a successful shopping day yesterday, today was to be a writing day. I wanted to keep my step count low again, so I skipped my morning walk and watched BBC news again, while writing a ton of postcards to send to friends and family members. Day 5 - Wednesday 8th April After all the exercise I did yesterday, I woke up realising I had overdone it a little, so I skipped my early walk, hoping to keep my step count down to 10,000 today to give my body a rest. I’ve learned the value of listening to what your body tells you, and I pay attention as far as I can. Being on holiday, there is absolutely no reason to hit burnout!
